The Algarrobo City Council, governed by the PSOE and Citizens, has decided to suspend all fairs, festivals, popular festivals, pilgrimages and activities involving crowds of people planned for this year. This has been announced by the mayor, Alberto Pérez Gil, on a side of the Mayor's Office, thus attending to the provisions of the Order of June 19, 2020 in which preventive public health measures are adopted in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia to face the health crisis caused by the coronavirus, once the state of alarm has been overcome.
The City Council therefore assumes the recommendations established by the state and autonomous bodies in relation to preventive measures to deal with Covid-19 in order to seek, as far as possible, the sanitary safeguard of the residents.
The side makes it clear that the suspension will affect all parties scheduled for the year 2020, subject to the appropriate measures that are issued by the state or regional government in relation to the health pandemic situation.
Among the suspended activities are the Algarrobo and Mezquitilla fairs, the Trayamar festival, the recreation of La Quema de Algarrobo and the flamenco festival, among others.
In this sense, the side indicates that it has been communicated to the Local Police Headquarters for its knowledge and effects, and that the plenary will be informed of it in the first session that is held.
