The Police Unit attached to the Junta de Andalucía has charged a person as alleged responsible for the forest fire declared on August 11 in the place known as 'Jurco', belonging to the municipality of Torrox, and in which a surface burned Approximately 7.5 hectares of forest land (scrubland, riverbank vegetation and fruit trees), as reported on Thursday by the Andalusian Administration in a statement.
The fire spread upward favored by the wind and spread rapidly affecting several properties in the area. In any case, the houses were not harmed thanks to the action of their occupants and the rapid intervention of the means of extinction of the Infoca Plan, both land and air, which had to evacuate the neighbors before the imminent danger of fire .
Thus, agents belonging to the Environment Area of ??the Police Unit attached to the Autonomous Community of Andalusia of the Provincial Headquarters of Malaga moved to the area of ??the fire to determine their causes and investigate possible authors thereof. All this, in close collaboration with the Forest Fire Research Brigade (BIIF), of the Board of Environment Agents of the Board.

Once the starting point and the cause of the fire were determined, the agents took testimony from different witnesses, obtaining the necessary evidence to prove their investigations. Even, through a recording of a video surveillance camera located in the area.
With these tests, the Attached Police were able to identify the alleged author of the fire, who was cited as investigated for a negligent forest fire crime, in order to give a statement. The investigation was terminated with the processing of the corresponding police report and its referral to the corresponding Judicial Authority.
