The deputy for the Environment, Cristóbal Ortega Urbano, met today at the Nerja Town Hall with the mayor, José Alberto Armijo, to advance the projects that culminate the Senda Litoral in our municipality. The meeting was attended by councilors for the Environment, Beaches, Urbanism and Tourism, along with technicians from the Provincial Council.
Currently, the Nerja City Council is waiting for the approval of the project that links Caletilla beach, under the Balcón de Europa hotel and El Salón beach. In addition, the two projects that continue the Path to the municipal limit are still in the drafting phase and obtaining authorizations, which are that of the union of the El Salón and La Torrecilla beaches and that of the connection of the municipality of Nerja with that of Torrox . Regarding the recovery of the Paseo de Carabineros, the Provincial Council has been asked to draft the project that unites Calahonda beach and Carabelillo beach, under the Mirador del Bendito. On the other hand, on the Great Path of Malaga, Ortega has reported that the roads that pass through the municipality of Nerja will be improved, while it will be publicized for greater knowledge of the population and visitors. Its maintenance will also be reinforced, with improved cleaning and signage. In addition, upon being informed of the intention to launch a Municipal Network of Trails, the Deputy has indicated that the provincial entity has a financing line that can be used for this project, to help standardize said Network with the Federation of Mountaineering. Control of access to the Chíllar river for recreational use has also been addressed.
On the Senda Azul, an additional project to the Senda Litoral to preserve and enhance the underwater wealth of our coast, the mayor has asked the deputy to transfer the Presidency of the Diputación the interest of the municipality to host one of the first actions that is performed on the eastern coast of the province. Both parties have assumed their commitments on all the issues discussed and have called a next meeting in December to continue promoting these projects.
