Torrox continues to lead the development of the Coastal Path in the region of Axarquía, since the two sections opened last year are now joined by the approval of the project for the maritime layout in the section between the Punta del Faro urbanization until the Rincón de Pepe beach bar, in the area of ??El Peñoncillo.
The mayor, Óscar Medina (PP), together with the Councilor for Finance, Paula Moreno (PP), have announced that they are already working to speed up the bidding procedures ?to enjoy as soon as possible? a path for walking and sports by the sea in this coastal area of ??Torrox. The project has an estimated budget of 207,000 euros, which will be financed by the Diputación.
The installation in May 2018 of the pedestrian walkway on the emblematic Güi River, in El Morche, which serves as a link with Vélez-Málaga, was the first section of the Coastal Path executed in the municipality and on the axarical coast, with a cost of 200,000 euros. It was followed, in just a couple of months, by the installation of a second walkway Over the Manzano stream, which has greatly revitalized this area of ??El Morche, "since it is being very busy," he said. The investment was 488,271 euros.
«The objective of the City Council is to connect the nine kilometers of coastline of the municipality, from the Llano de los Frailes to Calaceite, completing the wide range offered by Torrox with the Coastal Path, making it one of the main tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol» , said the governor Torroxeño.
