Julen rescuers receive the Taburiente prize from the Diario de Avisos Foundation

The foundation Diario de Avisos from Tenerife has received the Taburiente 2019 award to the members of the Julen rescue operation, for their work without rest during the 13 days of the episode in Totalán.

From the foundation they explain that the prize is a "recognition of the effort made by all the people involved in the search". The representative of the rescue team for the ceremony, which was held on Wednesday, was Julian Moreno, technical director of the Provincial Firefighters Consortium during those days.

Diario de Avisos is the fourth oldest newspaper in the Castilian language, with over one hundred and twenty-nine years of history. Throughout the life of these awards, the trajectory of different people has been recognized, such as Vicente del Bosque, Luis del Olmo or Manolo Blahnik. This year, different personalities from the environment of culture, journalism, radio and television will also be awarded.
