November 5, 2019.-
The mayor of Nerja, Jose Alberto Armijo, together with the Councilors of Tourism and Beaches, Gema García and Francisco Arce, have attended the 40th edition of the World Travel Market (WTM), which is being held these days in London, with the Aim to promote our municipality and strengthen the British market. The Nerjeña delegation has been part of the provincial delegation, which has been accompanied by the President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno.
For Armijo, having a presence in this tourism fair, the second most important in the world and one of the longest, ?is mandatory if we want to continue advancing in the development of Nerja as a tourist municipality of international reference. The challenge of this municipal government is to loyalty and increase British tourism, our main issuing market, at this time marked by the uncertainty of Brexit, and for this we work to establish new contacts and allocate greater resources in the tourist promotion of Nerja ? .
During the fair, a meeting point for businessmen, professionals in the sector, investors and the media worldwide, the Nerja brand will be promoted as a destination focused on promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism, standing out for its space protected that exceeds 85% of its territory, and which includes a Natural Park and a Natural Site. To all this we must add its beaches, which have implemented Tourism Quality Certifications, the charm of its historic center, its pleasant climate, and its tourist attractions such as the Cave of Nerja and the Balcony of Europe, which maintain an international projection that Consolidate our brand.
