Nerja, October 11, 2019.-
Yesterday, after the Holy Mass in honor of St. Michael the Archangel and Our Lady of Sorrows, held in the Church of El Salvador, the procession of our Patron Saints took place through the streets of Nerja. The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, was in charge of performing the touch of honor that began the procession. The Mayor of Fiesta Mayor, Elena Gálvez, along with members of the municipal corporation, Elder Brothers of the Brotherhoods and other authorities, who accompanied our Patrons, also attended.
The most important moment of the tour, and most desired by the devotees of the Virgin of Sorrows, was the arrival at her Hermitage. After the fireworks castle, the Virgin entered her house at the hands of her Brotherhood and the assistants celebrated with applause and cheers. Then, San Miguel continued its journey back to the El Salvador Church.
We remind you that last year the Virgin of Sorrows could not return to her Hermitage due to the restoration work undertaken in the building, which recently ended with the specialized cleaning of the paintings and ornaments inside. The procession had the following route: Balcón de Europa, Pintada, Angustias, Granada, Plaza Cavana, Carmen to El Salvador.
