This morning, the Councilor for Culture of the City of Nerja, Gema Laguna, has delivered to the Provincial Historical Archive of Malaga (AHPM) the documents that contain the municipal registers of the inhabitants of 1910 and 1920, where they will remain in custody while they are restored.
Both documents, which are part of the documentary collection of the Municipal Archive of Nerja, are in poor condition, so it will proceed to the cleaning, consolidation of its sheets and binding. A digital copy will also be made, which will provide an alternative access to these documents.
At the ceremony, the director of the Historical Archive, Esther Cruces, who will supervise the work and the restorer, José Andrés Navarro, who has explained the different interventions that will be carried out, proceeded to sign the minutes of the meeting. assignment.
Six documents have already been restored, among which are the Book of the Privilege of Nerja and Torrox, the minutes of municipal sessions since 1765, the Royal Decree recognizing the Puebla de Nerja ownership of land, houses and gardens of 1747, the Testimony of possession to the Puebla de Nerja of lands, houses and orchards. Real Provision and possession to the Puebla de Nerja of the five dehesas of its term of 1750, plus the registers of inhabitants of 1950, 1955 and 1960.
The councilor has been accompanied in the act by the head of the Municipal Archive, Justa María Martín, and the municipal technician of Culture, Angel Ruiz, with whom she has also visited the Provincial Library of Malaga where they have collected a batch of books for the Library Municipal.
