The Department of Culture of the City Council of the municipality of Malaga in Rincon de la Victoria has presented the poster and programming of the VII edition of the Puppet Festival, which will be held from August 15 to 18 in the squares and open spaces of the municipality, as has announced the councilwoman of the area, Clara Perles.
The festival will bring together four companies of national and international projection in a special edition where the 60th anniversary of the character of Peneque El Valiente created by Miguel Pino in 1959 is celebrated.
The mayor of the area has launched an invitation to neighbors and visitors "to have fun with the adventures of Peneque and his friends and other companies of a great level and trajectory."
Also, Perles explained that "the performances will be held in the four nuclei of the municipality in order to bring the puppet theater to all the families of Rincon de la Victoria."
The artistic directors of 'Producciones Infantiles Miguel Pino', Antonio and Miguel Pino, have expressed their gratitude to the City Council and have indicated that «to celebrate our 60th anniversary we have prepared a poster of classic shows for all the families of Rincon de la Victoria to enjoy , where they welcome us with love.
The VII Puppet Festival will begin on Thursday, August 15 with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Peneque El Valiente with the play 'Peneque, the dream of the puppets', in the Plaza Al Ándalus of Rincón de la Victoria, of the Malaga Company 'Miguel Pino Children's Productions'.
One day later, on Friday, August 16, the Cebe Teatro de Castellón Company will perform with the play 'Monsters' in the Plaza Gloria Fuertes of La Cala del Moral.
During the weekend, the Puppet Festival will travel to the Plaza de Las Flores in Benagalbón, on Saturday, August 17 with the play 'The Little Soldier of Lead', of the 'La Paca Company' of Jaén, and on Sunday 18 from August to the Old Railway Station of Torre de Benagalbón with the work 'Los Tres Cerditos' by the 'David Zuazola Company' of Chile to close the festival.
Participating companies will use various techniques such as glove puppets, muppets, thread puppets, shadows and visual objects. All shows will begin at 10 pm with free capacity with an approximate duration of one hour.
The Málaga-based Children's Productions Company Miguel Pino was recognized last February with the M Distinction of Malaga of the Provincial Council. Since the creation of the puppet company in charge of Miguel Pino Sánchez 60 years ago, the firm is a symbol of national quality in the field of family entertainment that Spain, Europe and North America has been touring.
