Rincón de la Victoria joins the project 'UMA in the province' to host a training action on the study of the coast

The City of Rincón de la Victoria and the General Foundation of the University of Malaga (FGUMA) have signed a collaboration framework agreement for participation in the 'UMA in the province' project. This is a specific dissemination and training initiative that has a successful track record since it was launched in 2018, and is open to all citizens, not just university students.

The rubric of the agreement has occurred between the mayor of Rincon de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), and the general director of FGUMA, Diego Vera, in the Hall of the City Hall of the Consistory. Also present was the academic director of the FGUMA Research Area, Antonio María Lara, and the general secretary of the City of Rincón de la Victoria, Miguel Berbel.

Salado highlighted the interest of the initiative, «which in the case of our municipality will focus on the coast of the Costa del Sol, and on the recovery and protection of the marine diversity of Rincón de la Victoria, which we are already promoting through the project of a reef in the area of ??El Cantal and the performance of the Blue Path of the Provincial Council ».

For his part, Vera said that "this agreement is the starting point for both entities to start working with actions aimed at generating new spaces for reflection and debate." The objective of FGUMA is to bring knowledge, research and debate to different parts of the province of Malaga and thus remove the university classrooms from the capital. They have already held conferences in which topics as diverse as oncology, neuroeducation, emotional intelligence and social networks, etc. have been analyzed. The agreement is valid for one year.
