The Department of Social Policies and Equality of the City of Rincon de la Victoria has reported the celebration of the forum of men 'Learning another masculinity' to eradicate inequality and gender-based violence, as has been advanced by the mayor of the area in office, Pilar Delgado (PP). It is a meeting organized by the Municipal Information Center for Women, which seeks to "show the population in general that the road to true equality must also be led by men", explains the councilor, who has advanced that the forum will be held on June 26 in the Plenary Hall of the City Council.
The acting Mayor of Rincon de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), has highlighted "the commitment of this City Council to equality policies promoting actions aimed at men and women that encourage transformative changes, integrated approaches and new solutions." Also, the councilor has indicated "the importance of continuing to work with all social agents to raise awareness and awareness of existing inequalities, and prevent situations that result in cases of violence or abuse." For this, Salado explains, "the first steps have already been taken to prepare the I Municipal Equality Plan in Rincón de la Victoria."
The forum will consist of two presentations and an "open microphone" section, where the participation of the attendees will be invited, seeking the involvement of the male public of different ages and professions to raise awareness of equality and prevent gender violence.
On the other hand, yesterday afternoon was held the training session 'The Male Violence: analysis and intervention from the State Security Forces and Bodies', which was given by the psychologist and coordinator of the Sexual and Gender Violence Service of the City from Malaga. During the session the different protocols applied in the municipality in cases of gender violence were addressed. The sub-inspector and head of the operational command attended, the sergeant of the Civil Guard and the person in charge of the citizen service of Rincón de la Victoria, together with local police and civil guards.
Since the CMIM have extended their thanks to the participation of the Security Forces in the day. Both this training day and the forum for men are subsidized through the funds allocated to comply with the State Pact on Gender Violence assigned to the City Councils.
