The Nerja City Council is once again the subject of unfounded accusations, made by the Axarquía Nature Studies Office, GENA-Ecologistas en Acción, assuring that there have been irregularities in the processing of a waste transfer plant. As in the notes that it recently issued announcing complaints against the city council for an alleged illegal dump of pruning remains or an alleged discharge of sewage into the river, this new accusation is based on speculation without any rigor, which only seeks the public notoriety of its entity through the media, at the cost of losing credibility.
As on previous occasions, neither the Cabinet for Nature Studies, nor the media that publish his note, have contrasted with municipal officials any of the statements it contains. The Councilor for Urban Planning, Nieves Atencia, points out that ?if they had consulted me, I would have shown them the documentation in which the company requests the building license in 2016, which is granted in July 2017 by the previous mayor, resolving the request for Environmental Qualification favorably in August of that same year. In addition, in July 2019 he was granted the First Occupation License with favorable technical and legal reports ?.
For his part, the councilor responsible for Openings, Javier López, points out that ?the company presented in March of this year the Resolution of the Territorial Delegation of Malaga of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development by which it is granted Authorization in the management of non-hazardous waste, as established by Law 22/2011 on Waste and Contaminated Soils. The Authorization has been accompanied by the Responsible Declaration for the exercise of the activity, as required when the Urban Planning License was granted, for which they meet all the requirements established to carry out the activity ?.
?I must ask those responsible for GENA to stop intoxicating in the media, because this attitude creates unnecessary social alarm. All the councilors who make up the Municipal Government Group are at their disposal to provide them with all the information they need before continuing to spread false news without any rigor, ?concludes the councilor.
