The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, and the president of the Association of Presidents of Communities of Urbanizations Nerjeñas (APCUN), Keith Taylor, have held a working meeting to recover cooperation in matters that concern residents of the municipality. They have been accompanied by members of the government and the executive committee of the association.
The main issue has been the situation in which the works of the Nerja Treatment Plant are located. Fracisco Arce, Councilor for Infrastructure, explained that it is pending that the Intervention of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition supervise the Modified Project and the work is awarded. It has been transferred to the association that the last municipal plenary session approved an initiative of the Municipal Group of the Popular Party urging the Central Government and the Junta de Andalucía to urgently promote the actions that both administrations have pending for the completion of the works.
Regarding the rest of the topics discussed, APCUN's concern for community swimming pool regulations and the slowness with which the East Sanitary Management Area of ??Málaga-Axarquía informs the construction licenses and pool reforms, the situation of some urbanizations with the water supply and the problem when obtaining a first occupancy license for housing for tourist purposes.
Taking advantage of the meeting, the mayor has proposed that the City Council and APCUN recover the framework agreement so that communities can sign specific agreements and move forward in the regularization of urbanizations and provide them with the necessary infrastructure and redevelopment of their streets, a proposal valued positively by the association. It has also been agreed to intensify meetings to continue cooperating and collaborating for the benefit of our municipality.
