The coronavirus continues to carry ahead the festive calendar of the province for the coming months. The City Council of Frigiliana has announced the suspension of the XV Festival of the Three Cultures, which was to take place from August 27 to 30, following the recommendations made by the Andalusian Government not to organize events in which large crowds may occur. In previous editions, this meeting has brought together more than 30,000 people in just four days.
At a meeting held this week, in which members of the municipal corporation, the Association of Entrepreneurs and members of the organization participated, an agreement was reached to postpone the festive event to 2021, which includes concerts, workshops, exhibitions, parades and a medieval market, among other incentives. After the meeting between the parties, the mayor of Culture, Carmen Cerezo (PSOE), said: "We are living a new normality that places us in a difficult moment and we have not yet completely defeated the virus."
"We have waited until the last moment, hoping to carry out the festival in a standardized way, but it could not have been so", argued the councilor of Frigiliana, who added: "We have seen how in recent days the Board of Andalusia has recommended that no public events, festivities or pilgrimages be held this summer. We have also seen how the Malaga City Council suspended the city's fair, and in chains dozens of towns all its festive events «.
?It is our responsibility with the people of our town and with our visitors, to maintain a safe environment and to remove the virus from the municipality. With the main objective of maintaining health security and to maintain the brand of the festival, we have decided, despite all of us, that this year's edition should not be held, «said Cerezo, while explaining that from the City Council They are working to ensure that the 2021 edition "maintains its prestige and fills the streets" of the axarch town with joy.
