The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has issued a Decree provisionally suspending the system for convening and holding ordinary sessions of Plenary, Information Commissions and Government Boards, as long as the state of alarm is maintained.
The convenience of adopting measures that help to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 contagion, to comply with those dictated by the Government, and especially considering the suspension of terms and the interruption of deadlines for processing administrative procedures, have led to the mayor to issue the aforementioned Decree.
For this reason, the ordinary sessions of informative commissions scheduled for March 20, the plenary session scheduled for March 26, as well as those of the Local Government Boards that are held weekly are not called. The Decree specifies that, if necessary, extraordinary sessions may be called, taking the necessary preventive measures for its celebration.
Consulted the spokesmen of the political formations of the Municipal Corporation, all have shown their conformity with what was decreed, except for the Socialist Party, which considers, in the opinion of its spokesperson, that ?the plenary and the commissions must be held, maintaining the necessary measures "
