The PP of Vélez Málaga will take to the next plenary session of the City Council a proposal to request the government team (PSOE-GIPMTM) to draft the projects for various sections of the Senda Litoral (specifically, on the route between Benajarafe and Torre del Mar and between Lagos and the limit with the term of Torrox) in order that the Diputación de Málaga can process them, promote the works and complete the path as it passes through the municipality.
The 'popular' councilor, Lourdes Piña, has detailed that the Senda Litoral, one of the flagship projects of the Diputación and that has generated the most consensus among the municipalities of the Costa del Sol regardless of its political color, has already been executed in a 80 percent of its route along the coast of the province, although in Vélez Málaga "we only have a small section finished."
However, he has regretted the numerous obstacles that the municipal government team from Vele has been placing on this initiative since its launch and has underlined the continuous problems that there have been to carry out the projects of the different pending sections, For example, they have presented documentation with numerous deficiencies, among them the absence of the mandatory geotechnical studies.
"It seems that the missing documentation has already been submitted and that these projects will continue their course", said the mayor, who despite this has criticized "the lack of interest" for the Coastal Path that the government of Vélez Málaga has shown, " to which it seems that all those projects that smell like being executed or led by the PP provoke rejection ".
Despite the fact that the processing of these sections already seems to have run aground, the 'popular' councilor has pointed out that there are still several for which the corresponding projects have not even been drawn up, for which he has complained to the municipal officials to write them as soon as possible, "since it was the City Council itself that wanted to take on this task with its own means and we do not understand how today this writing has not yet been done."
Apart from this request, the motion of the 'popular' group also demands that the Consistory take charge of the maintenance and conservation of the scarce route that is currently in service, with special attention to the areas most exposed to the action of the temporary, "because it is a pity that what little there is of the Senda Litoral in our municipal term ends up deteriorating," concluded Piña.
