The information commission of Citizenship Services of the Ner-ja City Council held this morning has unanimously agreed to submit a proposal to Plenary to begin the procedures for the adoption of municipal symbols, the heraldic shield and the flag.
The approval of this proposal, which will be discussed in the next plenary session, is the previous step for its registration in the Andalusian Registry of Local Entities. This registration entitles the entity to apply the Regime for the use of symbols, especially in relation to their protection, competence and classification of infractions and sanctions included in the Law.
The proposal, presented by the Mayor, the Councilor for Culture and the spokeswoman for the municipal group of the PP, will be institutional in nature and will be presented to Plenary as an initiative of the spokesmen of all the parties represented in the City Council.
The symbols of a municipality, its heraldic shield and its flag, express its identity and cohesion, so they are of special relevance for the community of neighbors. They are also used to validate official documentation. That is why they need approval and unified use in public spaces, hallmarks used by authorities and municipal workers, communications and official documentation of the City Council
