The Forum of Integral Sanitation of the Costa del Sol (SICS), has held an emergency meeting before the passivity of the central government regarding the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Nerja, and has issued a statement in which they denounce that ?we are already in the middle of February and the Nerja City Council continues, unsuccessfully, asking the Government of Spain for a meeting to clarify different questions regarding their WWTP. It seems that this WWTP does not have the importance it deserves for the Government. ?
As explained by the components of the Forum, what Nerja City Council requests, by active and passive, is a response to the implementation plan of the complementary project. It is also vitally important to know who will be responsible for the operation of the WWTP. This issue is very relevant since it requires preparing a whole protocol of action well in advance, "it is not about giving you the keys and running" they argue.
The Forum is composed of the main associations of the province of Malaga. Created in 2007, it emerged as a response to the need felt by entrepreneurs, professionals and groups in Malaga society due to the situation of inadequate sanitation in the province of Malaga. The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, after reading the communiqué, appreciates the urgent response to the laziness shown by the central government and reiterates, on behalf of the municipality, his gratitude to the Forum for his permanent commitment to such an important project for the town and the entire Costa del Sol.
