The pedestrianization of the most central areas of the tourist municipalities of the province has become a key tool to favor the de-escalation of the coronavirus pandemic, by allowing greater passage areas free of vehicles. In Nerja, the departments of Security and Transport and Commerce have announced the daily shutdown of road traffic on the central Diputación street, from 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
This measure will take effect from this Thursday, May 28, and will continue until October 31. That is why they request the eviction of vehicles so that the street is passable for pedestrians. The Councilor for Commerce, Javier López (PP), has assured that this pedestrianization "will contribute to revitalize the shops and the hospitality" of the aforementioned street.
