New project to improve urban infrastructures in Vélez-Málaga presented by the bipartisan government team, the PSOE and GIPMTM. This time it is about the rehabilitation of the streets of the emblematic neighborhood of Barracas de Poniente in Torre del Mar, an action in which they plan to invest 1,863,000 euros. However, no deadlines have been specified to complete the actions, which will be funded by the Provincial Council in the first phase of the three planned.
These are the streets Nueva, Patrón Veneno, Poniente, Jábega, Ancla, Caracola, Vela and Federico Díez. Torreño Deputy Mayor, Jesús Pérez Atencia (GIPMTM), and the Councilor for Infrastructure, Juan García (GIPMTM), said that it is "one of the most important projects and demanded by residents." "Today we received the initial resolution of the first execution unit from the Provincial Council, which will finance this project," they have detailed.
?We are talking about a project divided into three execution units that will involve the modernization of the connections, steel and lighting, among others. This reform of the Barracas de Poniente was one of the important points of our electoral program ?, has considered Atencia. "We continue working to build a city of more human dimensions, focused on people and attending to their needs," he added.
The Councilor for Infrastructures has detailed that the paving, lighting, signage, high and low voltage, telecommunications, water and sanitation will be remodeled. García has detailed that the lighting will mean "a comprehensive renovation" to adapt it to the LED system "with the consequent economic savings and reduction of environmental impact." To further the makeover, an underground infrastructure for the cabling will be made.
The mayor has indicated that the total investment will be 1,863,000 euros which, given the difficulty of the situation due to the pandemic, will be divided into three executions units. «The first of them will be the streets Ancla, Caracola and Vela, with an investment of 543,000 euros, while the second will correspond to the streets Nueva and Patrón Veneno, for 572,000 euros and, finally, a third that will include Poniente, Jábega and Federico Diez, for 566,000 euros, "he detailed.
Finally, García has stressed that his delegation will continue working "for a balanced distribution of the municipality's investments, as we have demonstrated in these months by acting in all the towns of the same, which includes from small actions to projects of depth like this" .
